Vermin stalwarts will remember in the days of old, I used to hold VOTM events during the L.A. Times Festival of Books. With the change of venue from UCLA to USC, Vermin returns to the LATFOB on April 30!
Like always, VOTM will be held at the Mountain Bar. Regulars will want to note the new day and new time -- Saturday at 7pm. And we really mean it this time! Seriously, if you roll in at the usual Vermin start time you will be out of luck.
Novelists Terese Svoboda (Weapons Grade) and Heidi Durrow (The Girl Who Fell from the Sky) will read from their acclaimed work.
Heather Fowler and Jim Ruland will celebrate the West Coast launch of Re:Telling: an anthology of repurposed art, stories and poems. My contribution imagines Jack & Jill as sex workers in Amsterdam. It's not going to be pretty!
The Vermin raffle will feature giveaways of Blake Butler's new novel There Is No Year, and a few other surprises.
Plus, the art created for the Vermin poster by Nuvia Crisol Guerra will be on display!
Chinatown is a short hop away from USC -- you can even use the Metro! And there are plenty of dining options in Chinatown. Make Vermin on the Mount your first stop on your post-festival festivities!
